recto:
Portrait of Prince Daniyal, late 17th century.
A full length portrait of a young Sultan Daniyal, the third son of Emperor Akbar, as a youth. It is possibly a copy of an earlier portrait. He stands facing right near a flowering tree holding a rose in his right hand and grasping the basket hilt of a firangi straight-bladed sword with his left. He wears a turquoise and gold plumed turban, a plain muslin kameez over purple pyjama with an ornately striped gold brocade patka
The painting has been extended at the top with the sky subsequently added.
verso:
Pair of fighting camels, 18th century.
A nim-rang (half colour) drawing of a pair of dromedary camels mid-fight against a plain background. Each bites the leg of the other drawing blood. The camel on the left wears a green and red bordered blanket and the one on the right a red and yellow bordered blanket. The image has been pasted sideways into a frame.
