Portrait of Lutfullah Khan, c.1650.
A nim-rand (half-colour) portrait of Lutfullah Khan, the son of Shah-Jahan's vizier Saadullah Khan. He faces right, wearing a plain jama with a gold patka (from which hangs a tulwar sword and a jhanjar dagger), a red brocade turban and yellow leather boots. In his left hand he holds a document inscribed with his name and banda-yi dargah 'the slave of the court'.
The figure has been cut out and pasted onto the page with a pale blue background, streaky green ground and blue, orange and white sky.

Chukar partridge, late 18th century.
Painting of a large chukar partridge facing left against a dark green background. The grass and flowering plants are later additions.
