A grey and white falcon standing on a perch in a meadow. The background is green with finely drawn grass and plants in the foreground and streaky horizontal clouds above. The falcon bends its head downwards and clasps the cord of its halter in its beak.

Portrait of Sulaiman Shukoh, c. 1650, by Ramdas.
A nim-rang (half-colour) portrait of Prince Suliman Shikoh (1635-62), the eldest son of Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh, by Ramdas (see also RCIN 1005025.i and 1005025.l). Sulaiman Shukoh was murdered by his uncle, Emperor Alamgir, in 1662.
