Portrait of Bahadur Shah I, c.1707
The second side of a double page illuminated frontispiece together with RCIN 1005069.c. A Persian inscription in the gold cartouche above the portrait reads 'His Majesty, Emperor 'Alamgir' but the oval portrait in the centre panel is a mislabelled depiction of Bahadur Shah I.
verso:
Falcon, 18th century.
A grey and white falcon standing on a perch to which its legs are tied. Its head twists backwards towards the right. Two insects fly towards the falcon on the left.
