Shamsah, 18th century
An eight-pointed shamsah, decorated in bright blue, orange, yellow and white, surrounded by blue finials and four gold half-medallions. Pasted within it is a painted copy of a genealogical seal of Jahangir dated 1025 AH (1616-17 AD) and regnal year 11. At the centre is a pen and ink bust portrait of the emperor holding a globe inscribed with the words 'Jahangir Padshah'. The surrounding cartouches name his ancestors up to Timur.

Portrait of Shah-Jahan, 18th century
The first side of a double page illuminated sarlowh (frontispiece) together with RCIN 1005069.d. The centre panel contains a bust portrait of Emperor Shah-Jahan in old age, facing left.
A Persian inscription in the gold cartouche above the portrait reads 'Emperor Shah Jahan, the second Lord of the Conjunction.'
