Portrait of Emperor Babur c.1600-5, by NanhaPortrait of the first Mughal Emperor, Babur, kneeling on a namda rug. He wears a tall white turban with a conical orange cap (kula) and purple jama embroidered with gold. In his left hand he holds a safina manuscript and makes a gesture with the other. His face has been over-painted in the 18th century.
