Portait of Abdullah Khan Kashgari, c.1660-1700
Abdullah Khan (d.1675) was the ruler of Kashgar, Central Asia, until 1669 when he was forced to flee to Mughal India where he was received by Emperor Alamgir. He died six years later in Agra. He is depicted with his arms outstretched wearing a long chogha robe, a plumed round turban and yellow leather boots.

A verse by Firdawsi written on marbled paper ascribed to the calligrapher Mir Ali, surrounded by gold illumination and decorated with an illuminated thumbpiece in gold, blue and orange.
