Portrait of Hakim Abu'l-Fath, c.1610--20
Hakim Abul-Fath (d. 1588) was a doctor at the Mughal court under Emperor Akbar and rose high in the emperor's favour. He was a son of Mulla Abd al-Razzaq of Gilan, brother to Hakim Humam (see f. 33), and is credited with the invention of hookah (the water pipe).
