Bust portrait of the Mughal emperor Jahangir c.1620
Attributed to BalchandA 3/4 profile portrait of Emperor Jahangir. In his right hand he holds a gold cup decorated with an image of the Madonna and Child.
The illuminated border is a frontispiece from an earlier Persian manuscript. The original text panel has been covered with a late 18th century panel of arabesque decoration containing the bust portrait.
